Anything Goes over at Lili's Little Fairies!

Okay ladies, this week you can fill yer boots as it's Anything Goes over at the Fairies Challenge blog. I made this card so long ago I'm having trouble remembering what I used!!

The papers, I'm pretty sure, are from the much loved Meadow Lark Prima pad. This pad sure has gone a long way! The ribbon and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the lace is from my stash. I've used the Martha Stewart heart border punch too (it's one of my favourites!). I've never made a Christening card before so wasn't sure what sentiment to use! Now I have the new LOTV sentiments I have one specially for Christenings - yeah!

The prize up for grabs this week is a NitWits voucher - now that would come in handy! You really have no excuses not to play along this week and I'm looking forward to seeing your creations. Did you see Kara Lynne's cowboy hat last week? Absolutely genius! If you get time please check out the DT's stunning work this week and pop by our lovely Guest Designers - Tracy, Judy and Lis!

Big hugs to you all. Ooooh and it's cooler and raining super yipyipyipee! Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday Weekend - I'm not really Jubilee material so I'll be attempting to avoid it! Hugs, Jayne xx

Hurray! It's the Polkadoodles blog's 3rd birthday!

I've made this card for the Polkadoodles third birthday challenge. You had to use three of something: I used three tag sentiments, three brads, three patterned papers and three dragonflies!!! I had such a great time making this one - I just adore this image!

I coloured the image with copics and then masked it to do the clouds with tumbled glass distress ink. The dragonflies and fence are Magnolia doohickey dies. I've also used the Sizzix Tim Holtz weathered clock die behind the image - somehow a doily didn't look quite right! The fab tag sentiments are the new ones from LOTV. The pins are from Creative Expressions and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. The image and papers are from the utterly fabulous Polkadoodles SugarPlum Daisy CD. If I could only keep one CD this would be it !

I'm sorry but I'm REALLY not keen on this weather - I seem to have a never ending headache! Hope you're having a great week. Hugs, Jayne xx

Ruby's Party!

Luckily, my daughter was well enough to go her friend Ruby's party today and has had a whale of a time. Two hours of a children's entertainer, however, has left me somewhat exhausted! Ruby and Indigo go to a ballet class together on a Saturday morning and I thought this LOTV image was perfect - it's JUST what the two of them look like!

The image has been coloured with copics and slathered with glitter! The banner is the whimsy stamp pendant banner die. The flowers and ribbon are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the charm was from The Works. I used one of the new LOTV sentiment stamps - so glad I bought these. The papers are the Tatty Teddy Spring Chic papers, which I still love.

I'm going in the bath and then going for a lie down in a darkened room!

Have a great week, hugs, Jayne xx

Anything but a Square over at Lili's Little Fairies

Double apologies today. I'm sorry the post is late and I'm sorry it's going to be super quick. My daughter came home sick from school yesterday and has been quite poorly - seems to be picking up now and hasn't been sick since the early hours - keep your fingers crossed please!

My card today uses a card blank from the lovely Which Craft and Positively Pampered which is one of my LOTV faves!

The papers are HOTP - free with a magazine. The flowers, lace and ribbon are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. The little cosmetic bag charm is from The Works.

Huge apologies, I don't know what the prize is this week but it's sure to be scrummy. Play along if you get the time - it's an easy one!!!

Big hugs, Jayne xxx

Embossing over at Winter Wonderland

Get me making a start on my Christmas cards in May! The challenge this week over at Winter Wonderland is embossing - either heat or dry. I've used both!

The reindeer and snowflakes are Kanban stamps and I have embossed the reindeer in black sparkle embossing powder. The embossed pieces of card are a bit of a hotch potch! The piece at the back was embossed using the Sizzix Birthday Vines folder, the middle piece was from my stash box and the dotty one is the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I've used the X-Cut Flower Doily punch for the pretty border.

The snowflakes are Spellbinders dies - they took about 8 rolls through the Calibur to cut and then wouldn't come out of the die. The air was blue! The ribbon is black silk ribbon from WOC. Never again - it's as soft as butter and I couldn't tie the wretched stuff!!!!

I think with a couple of tweaks it might end up as my batch Christmas card design. I need something that will go in the standard post so I'll have to lose the bow. Will have to think what to replace it with. You can tell there are no Crafter's in the senior posts at Royal Mail!!!!

I missed the Distress Marker sets at Joanna Sheen. I am beyond steaming mad.

Plain old shabby!

I think I'm going through a phase with my colouring. I just seem to be fighting it all the way! What I'm trying to say is please don't inspect this one too closely!!!
So, let's concentrate on the positives. The beautiful papers are First Edition 'Love Letters'. They're such a beautiful combination of pinks and browns (and some dodgy greens which remain ominously unused). The little frame is a Melissa Frances embellishment and they are just super cute. Still lovin' the big bow look too! lol. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the dies are Magnolia Doohickeys. I've stamped vintage LOTV corners with walnut distress ink on the main image. I attacked all the edges of the papers with scissors - not wise when hormonal. I went a bit mad and ripped a bit but have hidden the offending piece under a flower!!!! Sometimes where I place an embellishment has nothing to do with aesthetics!!

That's me for today. It's been one of those days - very occasionally I wish my daughter took after her father and not me. Life would be SO much easier. lol!

Hugs to all, Jayne xx

Dreamee Christmas

There's a DT call going on over at Winter Wonderland and it reminded me that I had coloured this dreamees Christmas topper AGES ago and hadn't got around to making a card. I love black hair on these girls - they're just super cute!
The digi stamp and the backing paper comes from the dreamees Seasonal Sweeties cd. The fence and the banner are also from dreamees - lovely Carol sent them as die cuts but I think you can buy them on a disk if you have a fancy dancey cutting machine (sorry they scare me)! You can also buy them as die cuts if, like me, machines of any description confuse you! I'm very taken with that banner!

The snowflake is a spellbinders die and in the centre is a Creative Expressions organza bow. The sentiments are both using freebie stamps from magazines. I'm quite liking pastels for Christmas; I think that might be the way to go this year.

Super, super quick one next. These colours are so not me but I'm really warming to them. I think this is my first EVER orange card so be kind. Again the topper (pre-coloured) is from the dreamees Seasonal Sweeties cd. The backing papers are from the dreamees Forever Florals cd (loads of bps on this one!)

The gorgeous ribbon came with some packaging and it looks lovely! The sentiment is from the polkadoodles Sugar Plum Daisy cd (again). The flowers are from WOC and the leaves are from the Spellbinders foliage die.

Huge thanks to dreamees Carol for sticking with me although I am officially the slowest sample maker in the west! Much appreciated :)

That's it from me today. Man, I am SO hungry. How come it takes much longer to lose weight than gain it? Hugs, Jayne xx

Lili's Little Fairies - Bear Essentials!

Oooh, there's some stamps on offer this week for the lucky winner! Yeah! I'm after those stamps - pity I can't enter!!

Thank you for all your birthday wishes, they really made me smile! I had a great day- beautiful sunshine and lots of buns. My kinda day! I got the most beautiful card from Squirrel - there's nothing like a handmade card to make your day! It's been a great year for me. I set up my blog in November and since then I can't believe how many new friends I've made. Thank you for stopping by - it really makes my day!

On to the LOTV bears! It's a super fast post 'cos I'm way late this morning. Will finish it off after the school run.

Back with details soon!

Back from my power walk in the pouring rain. I'm sure it's doing me some good - I'm in agony every day!! The backing papers are from my much loved Meadow Lark Prima pack. The button I 'borrowed' from my daughter's crafty stash (shhhh, no telling!) The ticket sentiment is from the Polkadoodles SugarPlum Daisy - it's worth buying for the sentiments!! The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The question is, if I rub deep heat on my poorly legs will the smell have worn off by the time I have to pick up my daughter from school? Dare I risk it?

Hugs, Jayne xx

Tuesday 15 May 2012

Hooray, hooray, it's nearly my birthday!

Okay, so at my age I really should be over the whole getting giddy over a birthday thing. But, I'm so not!!! My birthday is tomorrow and I am as giddy as a kipper!! I will try to contain my excitement (I'm getting some craft vouchers - super yippee!)

I've had this gorgeous fairy download for months but had a real fear over colouring her - she's so lovely I didn't want to make a real pig's ear of it! The fairy is Moon Glow and I bought her from Crafts and Me.

I've coloured her with copics and distressed the edges with chipped saphire and tumbled glass distress inks. The papers are 'Annabelle's Meadow' from Wild Rose Studio - they are just so scrummy. The die is the Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die from Sizzix. The blue felt butterfly is part of the Henbury Lane collection from Papermania. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon and tiny bit of lace are from my stash. I couldn't bare to throw that bit of lace away and was much cheered by the fact it fitted perfectly in that corner!

Sunday 13 May 2012

Super Sunday!

Well, what a lovely day today has turned out to be. We had a lovely morning in the park followed by a yummy second breakfast at my favourite cafe. This afternoon we went for a lovely walk/run - my daughter took her scooter and spent a quarter of the walk scooting full speed downhill with me running like a mad woman along side. Three quarters of the time, however, she stood on the scooter and had me pushing her because 'scooting is hard work, Mummy!' See, I'll be back in a size 8 in no time!

A quick card for today. To my shame I have had this stamp for absolutely ages and never used it. I don't know why - it's really lovely.

So, I coloured Tatty Button with copics and distressed the edges with tumbled glass distress ink (partly because I was too lazy to make a mask and do clouds, but it looks okay). The papers are from a Papermania pad - possibly Burleigh Blue. The tree die is the Arboscello die from Memory Box and the banner is the Banner Pennant die from Whimsy Stamps. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts; I bought a batch of 50 assorted small gardenias and they are really lovely. The crinkly ribbon is from my stash and I love it!!

If you're looking for dies I can highly recommend MaddyLisa the prices are fabulous and the service is second to none. I was really impressed.

Hope you've had a great weekend - way to go Lewis! Not a bad finish considering he started at the back of the grid - don't Mclaren want him to win? Next they'll be sending him out with 3 wheels!lol!

Big hugs, Jayne xx

Favourite Craft Tool over at Lili's Little fairies!

Gosh, did I really need an excuse to unleash the Grand Calibur and cut a mountain of dies? How much fun is this weeks challenge? I had a whale of a time but now I'm looking at the card I'm wondering if I went a little crazy? lol!
The scrummy backing paper is from the Polkadoodles Sugar Plaum Daisy CD - I've coloured the daisies in aqua to match my Fairies wings!! The fence and dragonflies are Magnolia Doohickeys. The Arboscello Tree and Clouds are both Memory Box dies. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Hasn't it been a great month at Lili's Little Fairies? It's been fabulous to have Bonnie, Becky and the utterly hilarious Whack Job, erm I mean Squirrel, joining us. Awesome cards ladies! Hope you get a chance to check out my DT sisters amazing creations this week.

We're sponsored by the lovely ladies at the Ribbon Girl this week.

All Partied Out!

Awww, how cute is this Kitty Cat? She's one of the Crafter's Companion Strawberry Kisses stamps and I love her! It was a lovely stamp to colour - not too taxing! It was one of the images I coloured in one of the many play gyms visited over Easter and the bow is positioned to hide a blob of latte!!!!! hehehe.

The papers are a mix of DCWV Rockstar and All Dressed Up stacks. They're scary papers, but I reckon they look fine here (possibly!). The metal corner and flowers are both from Wild Orchid Crafts. I wanted to use my smaller corners but I put them somewhere safe and now I can't find them. lol. The bling brad is from dovecraft.

I haven't crafted for days so I thought I'd ease my way back into it with a nice easy one today!

We've had a lovely long weekend; we even had a row about on a lake yesterday (sunny but blooming freezing). Maybe tomorrow I will tell you more about my daughter sitting on the sofa with two wooden Buddhas asking them what they wanted for Buddha day - somehow a pink toilet seat comes into the story. Kids, gotta love 'em! Hope you've had a great weekend. Back to the grindstone tomorrow :(

Thank you for stopping by; it's always lovely to hear from you. Hugs, Jayne

Anything Goes over at Lili's Little Fairies.

This week at Lili's Little Fairies it's 'Anything Goes' so fill your crafty boots and show us what you've got (so to speak)! We're being sponsored by those lovely people at Which Craft and there are some shutter cards up for grabs so join in if you can! I couldn't think what to do this week so I gave this Magnolia cake box a whirl. Let me tell ya, the air was positively blue whilst this was being created!!!!

The papers are absolutely delish - I'm sooooo glad I bought a couple of sheets! They are from the Basic Grey 'Picadily' collection. The leaves and heart border punch are from Martha Stewart - I just love that heart punch. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts (I really need to replenish my stocks but when I looked today the Gardenias I wanted were out of stock - big sad face here!!). One last photo to show the beautiful papers:
Most of the gems are now AWOL (apparently, 'they just fell off, Mummy!')

I hope that you're having great week and get to join us - every week the entries just get better! If you get time please visit the blogs of the LLF DT their cards will inspire your crafty bones this week!

Hugs, Jayne xx

Tuesday 1 May 2012

Sometimes it's about the journey, not the destination.

I can't remember the last time I made a card from scratch. You know, hand stamped the background and all that! Well today, inspired by Stampendous Fran, I got super inky and made one heck of a mess in my craft room! I'm not completely happy with the results but I'm blogging the card because I had such a good time making it!
The ribbon is more pinky in real life but the light has not been good today (neither has the weather, lol) It was a bit of a frenzied stamping session so I'll try to remember what I used. The main image is a Stampendous cling stamp called 'Rose Corset' I embossed it in Stampendous Aged Mahogany embossing tinsel. The flower background is the LOTV vintage background stamp, again embossed in the embossing tinsel. The other paper is stamped using the Inkylicious Create a Collage Vintage Script stamp set. The sentiment is from a Creative Expressions set  - Elegant Ladies I think.

The gold embossing powder around the edges at the top of the paper is from the Stampendous Aged Rose embossing enamel - just beautiful to use. I've used pink chalk on the topper edges and on the roses. The aged effect on the pink card was done using Fran's tip - put some coffee granules with hot water in your spritzer bottle and spritz away!

It's not altogether successful, but, as a first attempt at Fran-tage it could have been worse. I'm really glad Fairy Chris reminded me that sometimes we have to have fun with our craft!

My little one is in bed, my man is at his Sangha - the house is quiet and I'm going to watch Harry's Law IN PEACE!!!! Thanks for stopping by, your lovely comments keep me going! Hugs, Jayne xx
