A Little Bit Distressed over at Lili's Little Fairies!

In all honesty, I think I'm more distressed than this card! I was so not in the mood for distressing, which is unlike me, and I got in a flap. I had already coloured the image so just spent half an hour throwing bits and bobs at the card 'til there was no room left! Seemed like a super plan at the time.

Please excuse me, I'm a bit hazy on the detail. The papers are from Rusty Pickle (I bought a pack of these with some fab ribbon and trim from Create and Craft). The compass is from The Hobby House and has been distressed with alcohol inks. I've used the Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die and the film strip is also a Tim Holtz stamp distressed with alcohol ink. The image is a newish release from LOTV - called 'Walk the Plank'. My daughter would soooo make our dog do this if she could get him to move off the sofa!!

I've got an exciting weekend coming up - not!! I'm in the hospital all day Saturday - oooh yipee. I'm not that great with hospitals but I'm being a very big girl about the whole affair and trying to decide what sandwiches to take. I think, possibly, my poor dad has drawn the shortest straw - he's looking after the tiny terror all day. hehehe! I hope that whatever your doing this weekend you have a super time. Thank you for dropping by, super big hugs, Jayne xx

More pyramage with stamps!

The card base was made with the Go Kreate Frilly Frames 2 XXL dies. The butterfly lady and the butterfly is from the Stamp Man 'Aspects of Design - Butterfly Beauties'. I stamped the images onto a coated cardstock with the Hydrangea Big and Juicy ink pad, for some reason this ink seems to take better on coated cardstock. The felt butterfly is from the Papermania Henbury Lane collection.

I've made a card very similar to this using the dreamees butterfly stamps but my camera is not playing nice at the minute :(  If I go quiet it's because I can't get pictures of any of the cards I've made recently. I'm not sure I love technology all that much!!!

It's my daughter's sports day tomorrow! First one ever - I think I'm probably more excited than she is!!!! Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate you coming to say hi! Big hugs, Jayne xx

Warning! This post might damage your health!!!

Okay, so these are two of the cards I made for the Creative Cardmaking article. The brief was making toppers by pyramaging stamped images. I'll start with the vaguely presentable one and then get on to Tilda with a headache (I have no words)!

I do really love these stamps, they don't get used nearly enough. They are from the Creative Expressions 'Rambling Rose' stamp sheet. I've coloured the image with copics, and boy did it take me an age! The sentiment is from LOTV.

I'm sharing the next card with you in the spirit of friendship, knowing that you would share your disasters with me. (Hmmmm). I spent sooooo long stamping, masking and coloring the image that by the time I chopped Tilda's head in two I hadn't the energy or time to start again. So the card remained as it was for all the world to see. It is truly terrible and it is no wonder I nearly choked to death on my tea!!!!

Now, hasn't that cheered you up today? I'm entitling it, 'Tilda with a headache'. Genius. Those Magnolia people will be begging me to join the team after seeing this! Hehehe.

Super big hugs, have a great weekend and thank you so much for stopping by. Jayne xx

Polkadoodle-tastic!

They say you should count your rainbows and at last I have one to count today! I've won 10 Polkadoodle CDs on the Polkadoodle birthday blog challenge! Let me tell ya, I whooped around the house doing a happy dance that positively terrified the dog! And, I had a lovely power walk in the rain! I have indulged in too many galaxy muffins this week and I may have to lengthen the power walk (or I could just get a bigger swimsuit for my jollies!)

Although I'm not a huge fan of peach I really do love these pion design papers! I really enjoyed making this one and the lady who bought it was thrilled so smiles all round really!

The image and sentiment are both Lili of The Valley; these new sentiments have been a saviour, they're just really stylish. The flowers are and ribbon are WOC. Boy, did I get in a tuck with this ribbon! I'm beginning to think silk ribbon is evil. Just how long can you wrestle with one piece of ribbon to tie one bow? I'm wondering if faux silk is easier to tie? The little tag is a Magnolia DooHickey and I've stamped an LOTV verse on it.

If I'm brave enough tomorrow I'll post one of the cards I made for the Creative Cardmaking commission. It was the world's worst brief  for me - pyramage with stamps. I nearly cried. Poor Squirrel - she was inundated with texts and e-mails detailing my every cardmaking disaster. The article was also nearly the cause of my demise. In pyramaging a Tilda scene I chopped Tilda's head in two - I laughed so much, with a mouthful of tea, that I snorted tea up my nose and nearly choked! Pyramaging stamped images is officially bad for your health!

Have a great weekend! Last episode of Season 9 NCIS :(  I have my nieces visiting tomorrow so should be a lovely weekend - my daughter loves to see her much older cousins!! Hugs, Jayne xx

Time to Play over at Lili's Little fairies

Ooooh, I did struggle with this one this week! In the end I went for this little cutie playing dress up with the feather boa! I'm really not liking the hair but I'm letting it go!!!!

The stamp and sentiment are both from LOTV. The papers are the Prima 'Meadow Lark' papers again (sorry!). I've used the Cheery Lynn French Pastry doily die for the first time in ages; I resolve to use it more often! The flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft; I really have to order some more but it takes me AGES to place an order so I'm trying to gear myself up for it!

Dawny P is in charge of us this week as Mummy fairy is having a tough old time of it. Sending hugs to Jacqui and all those in need. Have a great week, hugs Jayne xx

It's not often you see yellow on my blog!

Apologies if you have come here from Jacqui's blog in search of the goddess that is Jayne Nestorenko! I don't think Jayne's new blog is up and running yet and Jacqui has accidentally linked my blog instead!

I don't really get on with yellow. I don't know why - it affects me a bit like orange; instant dislike! Having said that, I'm quite liking these papers. Perhaps it's the acidic yellows I don't like; this is more creamy!!!!

The gorgeous papers are from Trimcraft  'The London Line' - it's a really pretty pack and not a dud in there! The stamp is, of course, Lili of the Valley. Butterflies seem such free spirited joyful creatures; or am I bonkers? I've coloured the stamp with copics and promarkers. I really must get some yellows that blend properly! The flowers and ribbon are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is from the Polkadoodles SugarPlum Daisy CD. I've used the Whimsy Stamp Banner Pennant die (again) I reckon it's another must have!!!!

Can I share with you a very joyful 'Mummy moment'?  My 4 year old daughter won star of the week at school this week. She has won it previously for literacy and numeracy but this weeks certificate meant sooooo much more because it's about who she is. The certificate reads ' Well done Indigo, you can always be relied upon to be smart and sensible, trying your best in everything. You are kind and caring towards others and always follow our core values'. By the time I got to kind and caring my lip was definitely wobbling! Great Grandma cried! We have our moments, we both have spectacular tempers but she has has a heart of absolute gold and I'm beyond grateful that she has been entrusted to me.

Sorry for going on! No more mushy stuff. Promise! I have lots of stamps and some CDs on ebay - more to go tomorrow. I need to raise funds for swimming lessons!

Big hugs to everyone; hope the week has been kind to you. Hugs, Jayne xx

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

In the Garden over at Lili's Little Fairies!

Okay, so this week we're thinking florals/gardens/outsidey scenes! Hope that clears it up! What can I say, I started making this card by putting the backing paper on upside down and it kinda went from there! Somedays you gotta go with the flow. hehehe.

The upside down paper is from papermania and the floral paper is from a Cute Companion CD. The fence is the Magnolia DooHickey and the Arboscello tree die is from Memory Box.

There were some stunning entries last week - again. Another great one from Kara Lynne, but then I'm a sucker for a pirate card! I really hope that you get a chance to join in this week. Have a wander through blogland and visit my DT sister's blogs - how do their cards get better every week?

Thank you for stopping by, it really makes my day. A big hello and thank you to my new followers - I really appreciate your support. I'm in the midst of a rubbish health situation which is why my posts have become ever more sparse. Hopefully things will settle in a few weeks, until then apologies if I go (unusually) quiet for a while! I promise I'm not bunking off to watch the football!!!!!

Super hugs, Jayne xx

Regal colours over at Polkadoodles

I'm not sure whether or not I'm too late to enter this challenge - I've been trying to make this card for a week and only got chance to do it today!

When I started this card I was intending to try 'clean and simple'! I'm not sure at what point it descended into embellishment chaos - I don't think I'm suited to CAS! The papers are Papermania Portobello Road and were free with a magazine - possibly the Docrafts Creativity magazine. The image is from the Polkadoodles Sugarplum Daisy CD. I struggled with  the colouring but if I wait to post something I'm happy with this blog is gonna be blank for a lifetime!! hehe!

The postcard and crown sentiment are stamps from the Portobello range. I stamped them onto patterned paper and the overstamped the postcard with other LOTV grunge corner stamps. The flowers are from WOC and the little tags are from Maya Road. I found the peg in my stash!

Eating less and doing daily power walks has worked wonders. I can now get into my size 8 jeans and can zip them up. If breathing was an optional extra I'd be good to go! lol!!

If I'm not too late I'm going to enter this into the Polkadoodles Regal Colours Challenge.
I would also like to enter it into the Samuel Taylor's June Challenge which is 'Red, White and Blue' - lots of red, white and blue prizes to be won!

Have a great weekend. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment - you keep me vaguely sane!! Huge hugs, Jayne xx

One for the Boys over at Lili's Little Fairies

Apologies for the post being late - it's been one heck of a week! To add to my joys my daughter has spent her saved pocket money on a doll that wees! Seriously, I have never seen my child so full of glee. And boy, does that doll wee!

Onto this weeks challenge. As Father's Day is just around the corner we have 'One for the Boys'. I had to make mine in super quick time so me no likey!

The one thing I do like like is the pack of backing papers! They are from Docrafts and are called Wellington; they really are fabulous. The banner is the Whimsy Stamp Banner Pennant Die. I've used a Lindsay Mason banner stamp and the Tim Holtz weathered clock die. The stamp and sentiment are both LOTV.

Sorry it's a quick one - I have to clean up puddles of water which are appearing everywhere courtesy of the weeing doll. I just love being a Mummy!

We're sponsored this week by J&C Creations. Can't wait to see all the entries - last weeks were just awesome.

Hugs, Jayne xx

Going to the chapel . . . .

See, now, here's the thing. If I stamp this image so that the church is straight the trees look wonky, if the trees are straight the church is wonky. You my need to stand on one leg and lean a little to view this card!! hehe. Maybe it's just me having issues?

The papers are from Wild Rose Studio (Wedding Bells - I think). The ribbon and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The stamp and sentiment are, of course, LOTV. I've coloured the image with copics. The little silver 'love' sentiment is from the Works.

I've got a hospital appointment this morning and the in-laws are looking after my daughter - I'm not sure which is causing me most stress!

Hope that you're having a fabulous week. Big hugs, Jayne xx

Something different!

This is a birthday card I made for someone to give to me!!! Well, at least I got what I wanted! I made it a while ago now but I had a lovely day messing with inks and stamps and had a whale of a time! The beautiful image is the Ella Bella stamp from Indigo Blu. I did the background with the Big and Juicy Hydrangea pad (my favourite!) I stamped a swirly stamp round the edge withe the flitter glue and then applied some silver flakes. It's the stickiest glue EVER! The butterflies are stamped with a stamp from the Butterfly Beauties stamp sheet from the Stamp Man. The card blank is made using the Go Kreate XXL Frilly Frames 2 die.

It's not my usual thing but I had such fun making it. My hands were purple for ages afterwards!

Hope that you're having a great weekend. Enjoy the bank holiday and try to keep dry :)  Hugs, Jayne xxx
