Scrumptious Honey!

It's been ages since I plucked up the courage to colour a Saturated Canary image! They're beautiful images - Krista sure has talent by the bag load - but colouring them scares me! This is my first attempt at the beautiful Honey. The challenge over at Saturated Canary this week is Black, White and one other colour - yum! The one other had to be purple didn't it!

The papers are from a Papermania monochrome paper pack. The flowers and lace and ribbon are from WOC - that blooming silk ribbon takes an AGE to tie!!! The postcard stamp is from a Papermania 'Urban' stamp set and has been jolly useful. Now the copics I used were (roughly!) V17, V15, V12, C0,C1, C3, C5, C7. It's the first time I've coloured with these purple; I like them but they're hard word!

So that's me then. Hope you all have a great weekend. Super hugs, Jayne xx

Christmas in July over at Lili's Little Fairies

Huge apologies for the problems we're having at Lili's Little Fairies at the moment. A mixture of illness and family commitments mean that we are seriously depleted in number. I'm not sure if this weeks challenge is being posted - so sorry if it isn't. Check out the blogs of Elise, Lis and Netty if you get a chance as their cards are awesome!

I seem to think that these papers are from the Crafter's Companion 'The Snowman' pack again. The image is LOTV - one of my faves and it looks scrummy in aqua. I've used the Martha Stewart snowflake PATP and am super cheery that it worked! The completely fabulous little sign post and heart die cut was sent to me by Carol at Dreamees. I have a feeling that these can be bought as die cuts or on a CD for a cutting machine. I am absolutely in love with the little sign post so I'll contact Carol to ask for more info - it's just super cute for Christmas!!

The fence is a Magnolia Doohickey and the snowflakes are Spellbinders. The beautiful organza flower is from Creative Expressions.

Huge thanks to everyone who made the extra effort to add their links to the comments box for last weeks challenge. There were some stunning entries and I was really touched by your continued support in our time of technical chaos!

Super big hugs, Jayne xx

Pink/Purple and Aqua/Green over at Winter Wonderland

Miss Squirrel is hosting the challenge over at Winter Wonderland and what a fab colour scheme she's got going on pink/purple and green/aqua! How could a girl say no? I'm not going to even bother telling you how I intended this card to be CAS - I am just hopeless - but I did resist putting a bell on it!! hehehe!

I went mad with dies - but life's too short not to! I've used the Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily die, Spellbinders snowflakes, Memory Box Spring Border die, and the Spellbinders scalloped circles. Scrummy.

The papers are a bit of a mystery! I think the purple ones come from the Crafter's Companion Snowman paper pack. The sentiment is from Magnolia and the image from LOTV. The totally fabberific ribbon is from Sam Poole's shop (white - silky crush ribbon). Yum scrum.

Hmm, I coloured with copics and will try and remember what I used. Skin: Almond, Blush, Ivory, Dusky Pink and a splash of Vanilla! Dress: BV01, BV00, BV0000, Hair E50, E51 and E53. I used Tumble Glass distress ink around the edge of the image.

I'm gonna say this real quiet - me no likey this hot whether! Hope your having a super week! Hugs, Jayne xx

A beautiful bouquet!

I made this card for my daughter's Teaching Assistant so I tried to restrain myself and not make it too busy! Hmm, not sure I succeeded really!

The stamp is one of my faves - it came in a set of clear stamps from QVC but it doesn't seem to have the make anywhere on it! I coloured it with copics; I'm going to try and list the colours I use in future. The flowers and ribbon are from WOC. The papers are from the Prima Meadow Lark pack; I'm getting down to the last few papers that I know I'm not gonna use. Bev had the great idea of putting together a batch of papers she had left over and them giving them away as candy. I'm liking that idea very much so watch this space (be warned - the papers will be mainly yellow and green, hehehe).

It was fancy dress at my daughter's ballet class today. It was a sea of princesses and fairies. Oh, and one pirate. Guess who the pirate belonged to!

See, I did a whole post with barely any waffle. The Lili's Little Fairies post doesn't seem to have gone up; I'm not sure why this is but I apologise.

A card for a special friend!

I've come to the conclusion that my posts are too long and wittery so I'm going to cut to the chase! This card was made for a very dear blogging buddy of mine. She said the card was so heavy that it nearly broke her hand (I think she was having a drama queen moment!!!) lol!

The papers are the very beautiful 'Love Letters' collection from First Edition. The stamps are Wee Stamps and were free in a magazine - I nearly lost the will to live colouring the hair!! I really need to practice colouring this image but this was my first attempt so stand well back and squint a bit! The flowers are from WOC and the gorge ribbon is from my local craft shop. I ordered some ribbon from Sam Poole's shop and totally forgot I had run out of pink ribbon - so now I have lots of ribbon but still no pink. Grrr!

I'm doing well - I now three weeks ahead with my DT cards but I'm way behind with the housework. Something's gotta give though!

Big hugs for a super weekend. Jayne xxx

A touch of Romance over at Lili's Little Fairies!

I struggled with this one a bit - I'm not in the least bit romantic!! I don't really do the whole hearts and flowers thing; I'm shuddering just thinking about it. My husband puts this down to me being a practical Yorkshire woman!!!! Anyhoo, I'm sure you're much better at the whole romance thing and therefore your cards will be absolutely stunning!

The image and sentiment are of course LOTV. I have a real soft spot for the mouse images - the mice always look so busy! The papers are from the new Polkadoodles CD 'Picknix'. The papers on this CD are beautiful and it's a great buy for these alone. The ribbon is the crinkly edge organza stuff much favoured by the brilliant Sue Wilson - I think Sam Poole has it in her online shop. The flowers are from WOC.

The picture is truly terrible - I'm not on speaking terms with the camera! hehehe.

My daughter brought home her first school report yesterday. I cannot believe that my baby has finished her first year at school and she's still only 4! It's a wonderful report (okay I'm biased); when I got to the 'kind and caring' bit I had a lip wobble moment!

Hope that you get to play along this week - last weeks entries were stunning. Nearly holiday time and I can't get my big end into my swimming costume - ho hum. Apparently, Kate Moss once said 'nothing tastes as good as thin feels'. Well, she obviously hasn't had buttery mashed potato or scone and clotted cream, or a galaxy bar or bread and butter pudding. If she had, she'd look like me! Hugs, chubby Fairy xx

Tilda intact!!!!!

Look, here is a Tilda that I haven't chopped in two! Super! I'm not sure what this Tilda is called - probably something like 'Tilda with arms outstretched wearing party hat'!!! Isn't she lovely though? She is my second favourite Tilda - after the Tilda holding a bunch of flowers. Although I do like Tilda with the seahorse.  Okay, I have a lot of favourites. lol!

Me no likey these papers! I don't know what I was thinking. They are 'The London Line' 8"x8" pack from Trimcraft and they're just not me! I gonna have to use 'em - my house is like a paper warehouse. hehehe. I do, however, love the pink and blue together. The little tag and dragonfly are Magnolia DooHickeys. The sentiment and verse on the tag are both from LOTV.

It's been a long week already and we still have three days before the end of term :(  On a happy note my daughter has handed out at least a thousand invitations to her birthday party which is at the end of August - she can't wait :) She had a party last year and the look of joy on her face when her cake came out and everyone started to sing was pure magic - it'll stay with me forever. Sometimes being a Mummy is the best job in the world!!

Been there, done that . . .

This is the card I made for my Dad's birthday yesterday. He, like me, has a memory like a sieve, so I loved the sentiment!

Hurray for alysinkyfingers.co.uk - I ordered the stamps on a Friday afternoon and they came the next morning and the P & P was free!!! Super thumbs up for Aly! I hope she's back on C&C soon - she always makes me smile and I love her demos. The stamp set is called The Wrinklies and they're real fun to work with :)

The papers are from the Papermania 6"x6" Wellington pad. I've used the wonderful Sizzix Weathered Clock die with Kraft card and added a bit of ribbon from WOC. Simple! Didn't want to go all out frou frou - not sure my Dad would've appreciated it!!

Busy busy day but had lunch out with my best friend and my dad and am now much cheered! I've bought C&C POTW - the three Docrafts CDs. I confessed to Squirrel that I had to sell the last Docrafts CD I bought because I couldn't work out how to use it!!!!! Hmm, not sure how I'll go on with these, but I couldn't resist the Enchanted CD and the Portobello Road papers are my favourite. I really don't have any self control where craft products are concerned. I am bad.

Hugs, Jayne xx

Same, but different!

Oooh, sometimes I'm just a lucky bunny! I received the new Dreamees Christmas CD 'Christmas Memories' in the post a couple of days ago and as soon as I saw this bauble image I knew I wouldn't get through the week without using it! I have no self control! I'm not sure what you're going to think of these two; they're a bit different to my normal style and my man wasn't sure about the colours (he's colour blind so perhaps I should just ignore him!) I happen to LOVE these colours and really hope I'm not on my own or I'll have to rethink my Christmas cards!!!

This snowflake punch is MUCH easier to use than some of the other PATP punches. The image and sentiments are all from the Dreamees Christmas CD. The embossed card is mostly from Kanban - the dotty background I made using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The scrummy border is from the Moroccan Accents Spellbinders set. The snowflakes are also from Spellbinders.

Card number two is made using the same topper and lots of lovely backing papers from the CD.

I tried hard not to over embellish! This is practically CAS for me! I used one of the gorgeous Creative Expressions organza roses on the snowflakes ( can you believe they've discontinued those roses - I may sulk!)

Carol also sent me a fabulous dandelion stamp and I've seen a lovely card in a mag with a flower stamped and embossed onto acetate and I want to give it a go. Watch this space - I'll show you even if it's a disaster - I like to share, remember when I chopped Tilda's head in half? lol.

Big hugs, have a fabulous weekend. Jayne xx

Lili's Little Fairies are Pretty in Pink!

Huge apologies - it's another easel wedding card! Nice and easy challenge this week - pretty in pink - what's not to love. Details of the card will follow after the school run!

Gosh, I'm doing well this morning. I've done my washing, went on a power walk, hung the washing out, posted Squirrel's birthday present and been up to the bakery to get something scrummy for my Gran! May flake out on the sofa now!

I haven't used my Martha Stewart punch around the page punches much because I can't seem to get it right! I think some work better than others - this one was tricky but I have another card to post tomorrow on which I used the snowflake punches and that worked MUCH better! More practice needed I think.

How blooming scrumptious are these papers? It's a new pad (I have no self control) from Docrafts - the Lucy Cromwell 6" x 6" designstax. Every paper is utterly divine and I am one very happy fairy! The only problem here is that I've completely covered the most beautiful paper in the pack :(

The image and sentiment are, of course, LOTV. The butterfly and tag are both Magnolia DooHickeys. The beautiful lace, ribbon and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. This card is for my daughter's class teacher who is getting married in the summer hols. I hope that she likes it; she has been the most wonderful teacher and has certainly got the best out of my daughter.

We are sponsored this week by The Ribbon Girl - really the prize is luscious ribbon and the challenge is pink; you have NO excuses!

Thank you for all your lovely comments, big hugs, Jayne xx

Oh Baby!

Just a super quick card today! I'm swamped under a mound of Dt work, mag commission and wedding/baby card commissions and there are 3 birthdays coming up in the next week that all require super nice cards. No wonder I'm a gibbering wreck!! lol! Still, it keeps me out of mischief.

I made several new baby cards for a lady who couldn't quite decide exactly what she wanted! This first one was an easy 'lick and stick' card! I'm posting it because I really loved the colours. The image and papers are all Forever Friends. The sentiment is from LOTV and the ribbon and blooms are from WOC.

This next one is the card the lady bought!

These papers are Nitwits 'Holiday Charm' collection - I don't think you can tell they're supposed to be Christmas Papers! The doily is the Cheery Lynn French Pastry die. The stamp and sentiment are both LOTV. The little dummy charm is from the Hobby House - it's just super cute! The flowers and lace are from WOC. I love this fresh blue colour; I'll get the hang of the blue copics one day!

Hope you're having a super weekend. Don't forget to shout 'Go Lewis' at the TV tomorrow. Really loud! Off to Sainsburys now - the joy! I've put lots of CDs on ebay - bargains galore! I'll recharge my batteries and start listing stamps soon. Hugs, Jayne xx

Anything Goes over at Lili's Little Fairies!

Huge apologies that I never got back to this post yesterday; it turned into one of those days! Onto the important stuff! I don't usually do blue. In all honesty, this is because I can't blend the blue copics!! However, these papers just stole my heart and I just had to use them! They are from the Cottage Charm collection over at NitWits. If I was very rich I think I'd buy ALL the collections over there. The image and sentiment are both LOTV and the flowers are from WOC. The little tag is a Magnolia Doohickey; I bought some pre-cut on ebay because I really can't afford any more dies!

I've used the X-Cut doily flower punch and THAT heart die (you know, the one that refuses to cut all the little hearts out, so that you spend ten minutes trying to finish the job. grrrrrr) The charm is from the Works. I made this for one of husband's colleagues to buy and thankfully she loved it. I really am very taken with these papers so I may have to go and practice with the blue copics!

Huge torrential downpour this morning, thunder, lightning and general mayhem at school time. My daughter's teacher said when it thundered the roof shook!! My daughter thought the whole thing was hilarious! By the time I got home I was soaked right through to my undercrackers! Lovely!

Big, big hugs. Thank you for visiting - it makes my day, Jayne xx

My kinda muffin!

I'm thinking that sitting in a giant muffin is just a waste of perfectly good cake!!! I really love this image, you can practically taste the icing!

I didn't want to put too much on the card because this Magnolia paper is just too beautiful to cover. I think this is as close as I'll ever get to clean and simple. lol. The image and sentiment are both from LOTV and I've used copics to colour. The leaves are Marianne Creatable and the flowers are from WOC. The beautiful lacy border is new (naughty girl that I am) and is from the Spellbinders Moroccan Accents set.

Right, I must get back and do battle with the rest of this magazine commission. Two and a half cards made (!) so one and a half to go. Then there's just the write up and intro. I've got a complete block on my fourth card and have NO idea what to do. I might do a few jobs and come back to it!

Hugs, Jayne xx

Dreamees butterflies!

Apologies for the picture - my camera is just not playing nice at the moment! This card is made using the Go Kreate Frilly Frames XXL 2 dies for the card base. The beautiful butterflies are from dreamees.org.uk and - can you believe this - the stamps are £2-00 and £2-50! They are both lovely but I especially like the dotty butterfly used for the background - they're a bargain!

I used the Ranger Big and Juicy Hydrangea pad again; mainly because I like purple!!!! The sentiment is LOTV and the large felt butterfly is Papermania, Henbury Lane Collection.

My day in hospital was nowhere near as hideous as I had imagined. I think some things are best approached with a huge dollop of humour, sometimes it's the only way to get through it!! When we came home there was a heavy downpour which was followed by the biggest, most beautiful rainbow I'd ever seen. Bless Edna,  every time I see a rainbow I think of the saying 'count your rainbows not your thunderstorms'. So, whenever I see a rainbow I feel a ridiculous sense of hope and remember all my blessings!

That's it from me today - I probably shouldn't have done a power walk this morning!!!! Occasionally, common sense evades me! Thank you for your support with the whole hospital thing - much appreciated! Hugs, Jayne xx
