Pink and Aqua!

I am loving these colours together! I can't tell you how cheery making this card made me - such happy colours! This was one of the LOTV stamps I bought at Harrogate. I couldn't work out why it was called 'Winter Wishes'; then I stamped it out and realised there were two great big snowflakes around the fairy!! So, I inked up the image and used a baby wipe to take the ink off the snowflakes and stamped. Can we pretend that the falling snow is fairy dust instead? I love this stamp and don't want to have to put her away until Christmas! I am sooo dateless sometimes!

The butterfly paper is from Magnolia 'Butterfly Dreams' and the aqua papers are from the Prima 'Sweet Fairy' paper stack; the edges of the paper are distressed with picket fence crackle paint. The metal corner is from WOC; it started life as silver but I slapped a splodge of picket fence crackle paint on it! The sentiment is LOTV and the muslin and flowers are from WOC. I got the pink lace ages ago in a big bag of ribbon! I was a very good girl and decorated the inside of the card to match (instead of leaving the card half finished and then having a huge pile of cards to finish off!!!)

I made the card after seeing the sketch over at Papertake Weekly. I do like a challenge that's a proper challenge - to try something I wouldn't usually do! I'm loving this sketch and can see it getting used a lot in future!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Sketch 66
My Mum's Craft Shop - Stamp It
Truly Scrumptious - Use Lace
Kaboodle Doodles - Use circles and squares
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Divas By Design - Stamp Something

Lili's Little Fairies - Anything Goes

Okay, so there are two reasons to enter this week. One, it's super easy - Anything Goes - fill yer boots! And two - the prize is a Nitwit Collections voucher. I could quite easily spend a fortune at the Nitwit store!

This week I've gone for something as near to white on white as I could manage. In part, I was inspired by the amazing Merethe. If you haven't checked out her blog I'd certainly recommend you do - it is seriously good. I can spend ages looking at her creations; she's just super clever.

The heart easel was made using the Cheery Lynn Heart Doily die; this has been a great buy as I'm using it a lot. I used Kanban embossed card which was very beautiful; it's a shame I practically covered it! The muslin and flowers were from WOC. Seriously, I'm making cards just so I can use the gardenias! The lace and rings were from my stash.

Not a very exciting card today but it's one of the few I've made that I like! Sometimes it's good to keep it simple.

It's new boiler day today; plumbers arriving at 8am. Oh yeah! Fingers crossed - I just want some hot water! At least it means I can't zumba today! Super yeah!

Big hugs. Wishing you a super week. Jayne xx

Magical Mimi!

I have no idea what to say about this card other than WHAT was I thinking! I loved all the elements separately, but put them together and it was a disaster!!! The stamp is lovely though so I thought I'd blog it anyway.

The stamp is from Penny Black and is called Magical Mimi! She is just sooo cute. The card is for my daughter's friend who turns 5 this weekend. Think of me this weekend - we have two parties in two days. Oh boy!! My husband's parents are also coming to visit at the weekend. I don't know about you, but I'm not much good at being on my best behaviour!!!!!

Back to Mimi. The papers are from the Polkadoodles Sugar Plum Daisy CD. The rosette is made using the Tim Holtz 'Decorative Strip' sizzlits die. This die works MUCH better now that I have myself a glue gun. (Seriously, what kind of loony sells ME a glue gun?) You have to get one, they are just fab. I'm going to try making one of those coil flowers - I always have trouble with the gluing and I reckon the hot glue will fix it much better.

The butterfly is a doohickey. Gosh, I hope Ellie likes it. What a disaster! Not to worry, tomorrows card is much calmer. I have been crafting this week but mainly making LOTV DT cards. I'm getting ahead so I don't have to panic over the Easter hols. It's not easy crafting with a 4 year old who's intent on 'helping'!!

Hope to see you tomorrow for Lili's Little Fairies - nice and easy challenge tomorrow. No excuses!!! And we're getting a new boiler tomorrow - we will be penniless but have hot water at last. Yeah! Hugs, have a great day, Jayne xx

Dainty Dancing!

Just how cute is this liitle miss? Another delish super cutie from Lili of the Valley. Someone needs to tell those girls to stop before we all go bankrupt!! I can't wait for the new releases - have you seen the sneak peeks on the DT blogs? I have no self control!!!lol.

I'm loving this colour scheme and I only tried it because I saw this weeks challenge over at Truly Scrumptious! The yummy papers are fro a Prima pad called 'Sweet Fairy' - it's jam packed full of delish papers in pinks, aquas and lilacs. Super yum. The little sentiment is from the new Polkadoodles 'Sugar Plum Daisy' CD. Did I say this CD is a must! The flowers and ribbon are from WOC - I'm addicted to those gardenias. The doily just peeking out from behind the fairy is the super beautiful French Pastry die from Cheery Lynn. The dragonfly is a magnolia doohickey and the charm is from my ridiculously huge stash!! Coloured the little miss with copics - can't quite remember but I think I used BV0000, BV00 and BV01 on the dress. Sorry, I'll start paying more attention.

Now, onto the highlight of the post! This is the Rainbow Shark my 4 year old daughter made at school. I went to an open afternoon to see the art work this week and had a nice look around - my daughter was an official tour guide and she told me that she showed all the Mum's her shark!!! Just fabulous.

Hope that you have a great weekend, hugs, Jayne xx

I'm entering the card into the following challenges:
Truly Scrumptious, lilac, lemon and cream
Love to Create Challenge 'Anything Goes'
My Time to Craft ' Doilies and Flowers'

Lili's Little Fairies; Jacque's sketch

Oooh a bit of an easy one this week - just what I like! Aren't we lucky to have a clever lady like Jacque to do all the hard work for us? I do love a sketch - there's no excuse not to join in this week! The added extra bonus is that there are two NEW LOTV stamps up for grabs - wish I could enter!! Here's my take on the sketch - which I've used a few times since making this card!

The papers are the First Edition 'Love Letters' pad. I'm loving these muted tones - I needed a break from all this red! lol!! The flowers and seam binding are from WOC and the lovely pins are from Samuel Taylor's.The banner is the Whimsy Stamp banner die and the letters were cut using the Blackboard Blues die from Sizzix.

I hope that you get a chance to play along this week; it really is a lovely challenge. If nothing else go and check out my teamies cards - how divine are they this week? I'm one lucky bunny being a part of this team.

I'm going to enter this into: Cute Card Thursday 'Anything Goes'

Big fairy hugs to all, Jayne xx

I think I'm in the midst of a red phase!!!

Do you ever have colour phases in your card making? The last few cards I've made have been red - not 'by purpose' as my daughter would say! It's a very cheery and uplifting colour though!

This one is made using the brand new Polkadoodles CD 'Sugarplum Daisy' (purchased at Harrogate). I'm doing really well with my Harrogate goodies; all my LOTV stamps have been inked and I've coloured two and now I've used the CD. Obviously, I really did NEED my purchases!

Please excuse the colouring; my dizziness is back and concentrating is proving tough! The image is a digi stamp on the CD. There are loads of digi stamps and backgrounds on this CD and the backing papers are truly scrumptious! The muslin and flowers are from WOC but the ribbon is from Sam Poole. The beautiful tag and fence are both Magnolia doohickey's. The fab ticket sentiment is also from the CD - hmm methinks this CD is another must have!!!! I think it launches tomorrow evening on Create and Craft at 9 along with a letraset POTD - I think.

This next one is a quick card made using the Dreamees flowers pots. They're not really polka dot pots - I added the spots with a white gel pen!

The pots and backing paper are both Dreamees. The gorgeous sentiment is LOTV and the butterfly is a Magnolia Doohickey. I didn't manage to incorporate a fence into this one!

I'm hoping to enter the easel card into the Kaboodle Doodles 'cute' challenge, Polkadoodles, Incy Wincy Designs 'Things with Wings'challenge

Have you heard Engelbert Humperdink's Eurovision song? I have no words. lol! Hugs, Jayne xx

A little bit of peaches and green!

I've used so many die cuts and embellishments on this card that I haven't got a hope in remembering what they all are! Most important things first: the stamp is the very delightful 'pom pom' from LOTV. How could you resist this one. (I bought lots more at Harrogate today; bad girl!!!) I coloured her in copics and sprinkled glitter for good measure.

The fence and white flowers are from Magnolia - okay, I'm addicted to the whole fence thing! The doily die is the Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily Die. I've also used an ornate X-Cut nestie as a border for pom pom. I think the papers are from do crafts but I'll double check.

I'm exhausted after Harrogate. I spent at a rate of £1 per minute!!!! No more spending for the rest of the month :(  We also went to Knaresborough Castle and Spofforth Castle which my little one really enjoyed. Might put my feet up and do a bit of colouring tonight.

I'm going to enter the card into the Kaboodledoodle 'Show us some Green' challenge.

Big hugs, wishing you all a lovely day tomorrow. Hugs, Jayne xx

Red hot Polka Dots!!

Ooooh, how much do I love this red polka dot paper? As soon as I found it on the Dreamees Forever Florals CD I hit the print button! It's beyond scrumptious. I love red and white together; it's so fresh and striking.

The little easel card/box was made using the Crafter's Companion score board. The papers are from the Dreamees Florever Florals CD. I stamped the Dreamees Summer with Roses stamp, masked the image and the over stamped with the Quirky Fence image (also Dreamees). I coloured the image with copics; I love copic reds, they're so rich.
I also got to play with my new Memory Box Die! Dig that tree, huh! It's fabulous and I'm going to be making cards specially to use the tree! The beautiful butterfly is a Magnolia Doohickey and I bought the utterly divine ribbon from my local craft shop. It's expensive but it's so lush, how is a girl to resist?

Busy weekend! My four year old daughter has been to a school disco tonight! Tomorrow is Harrogate (yeah) and Spofforth Castle and Sunday is Mother's Day.

Hope all you Mummy's have a great day on Sunday! Have a great weekend, hugs, Jayne xxx

Butterflies and Fairies over at Lili's Little Fairies!

Sorry I've been unusually quiet this week! My BFF is in a lot of pain and can't do very much. The only thing that takes her mind off the pain is coming and lying on my sofa and having a chat!!! In short, I've got absolutely nothing done at all this week!

Yesterday afternoon I went to see my little girl in her Mother's Day assembly; ahhh I wish you could have seen her! She just beamed through the whole thing, waved at me and blew kisses! She knew all the songs and all the actions and was just totally fabulous! Generally, she's a 4 year old horror but yesterday my heart felt like bursting for all the right reasons!! I didn't cry but it was a close run thing!

Okay. on to the important stuff. This week it's butterflies and fairies over at Lili's Little Fairies. I sooo loved this challenge and enjoyed making the card more than anything else I've done in ages! The image is my new 'Positively Pampered' stamp from LOTV. I LOVE it! Elise used it a few weeks ago and wrote a really thought provoking post on how, when we look in the mirror, we should feel perfect. It's buzzed around my head ever since. It's made me wonder whether we all need to give ourselves a break once in a while and be as kind to ourselves as we are to others? Just a thought!

I coloured the image with copics and distressed just about everything I got my hands on with walnut stain distress ink. The totally gorgeous papers are from the Meadow Lark pack from Prima. The topper is cut with Spellbinders Labels Twenty Three. The flowers, ribbon, lace and cheesecloth are from WOC. The large butterfly is a Magnolia Doohickey die cut.

I may not be posting much this week. The copy of 'Breaking Dawn' I ordered from Amazon came today!! Yippee yie Yay! I'm going to get a huge sticky bun from the bakery tomorrow, get a vast cup of tea, and watch my DVD till my eyes are square!

Hope you get to join in the challenge this week. Last weeks entries were awesome and I so love visiting your blogs. Check out my teamies blogs for their cards - simply stunning this week. Thank you for visiting my blog I really love to read your comments!

I'm off to the Harrogate Papercraft Extravaganza this weekend. I will spend too much money and then be grumpy that I can't afford the Holtz distress markers! I have no discipline. Let's not even mention the diet!!

Big hugs, have a super week, Jayne xxx

Way out of my comfort zone!!!

The very lovely and talented Edna is part of the Colour Create Design Team and I've been meaning to join in their challenges for ages but always seem to miss the deadline! So, trust me to find time to join in on the challenge that I would find most tricky! What a numpty. So the challenge is grey, yellow, black and white - this is a big challenge when you only have 2 yellow copics and NO yellow papers!! Nothing like making life hard for yourself, is there?
I'm still not sure about this card but I'm really glad I gave it a go; it made me much braver when I made my Lili's Little Fairies DT card today (wait till you see it - I practically threw the entire contents of my embellishment box at it!!).

This image is another cutie from Krista Smith called 'hand me downs'. The papers are from Papermania - the monochrome capsule collection and the postcard stamp is also Papermania (Portobello Road collection). The flowers, lace and cheesecloth are all from WOC. The doily (I can't help myself) is the French Pastry Doily Die from Cheery Lynn (from Joanna Sheen's treacherously wobbly shelves). The hat pins are by Creative Expressions bought from Sam Poole.

All in all I'm glad I gave this colourway a whirl. It doesn't help that I don't like yellow and the only pens I had were of the 'in yer face yellow' variety!!

Anyhoo, I'm going to try to link this up to the challenge. Fingers crossed. Colour Create Challenge - Yellow, Grey, Black and White

Wasn't NCIS good last night? It made me cry!! Wishing you a fabulous weekend, Jayne x

Dream a little Dreamee!

What a week! Am I glad it's Friday! Yesterday, I finally got to play with the box of goodies sent to me by Carol over at Dreamees. Firstly, I must apologise for the state of the photos. I had intended to take the pictures in the day time with good light, but my dear BFF came around and we spent all afternoon chatting and then realised we had to scoot to get our little ones from school! It's a hard life!

I decided to make a page book as I haven't attempted one in ages. The little lady is Summer with Roses and the backing papers are from the Dreamees Forever Florals CD. Ooh and look, I got to use that fence again! lol. I've used Bev's template for the clouds again - needs more practise but I do love to do it when I can be bothered to make a mask!! I've coloured with copics: R85, R83, R81,  RV0000, G20, YG61, YG63, YG67,BV01, BV00, E29, E25, E23, E50. The flowers are from WOC and the ribbon from my stash. The inside looks like this:
The tree image is again Dreamees called the Flower Tree and I've gone around the edge of the image in pale pink ink with the cherry blossom stamp. The sentiment is also form Dreamees. I also used the X-Cut Flower Doily border bunch (another fave).  Shall we go for a side view too? Hmm, death by photo overload!!
I have another card - can you bare to stick with me? I got to use my new French Pastry Doily Die (Cheery Lynn Designs from Joanna Sheen) and my Magnolia Doohickey butterfly. I still have white pips all over the floor from die cutting so I think I might even get the vacuum out! There's something about circular easel cards I just love:
I love this cute watering can! It's coloured with copics: C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, the greens as before. The flowers, ribbon and lace are from WOC - where would we be without them? Okay, last photo, I promise:
Again the papers are from the Forever Florals CD. This CD is great because all the pinks/lilacs/greens are the same shade and tone - some CDs have pinks but they're all different tones and when you put them together they just look odd - or is that just me?
I think I need a lie down in a darkened room after that! Tomorrow I have a card to post that is way out of comfort zone - in shades of grey, black and yellow! Yellow, me? I only have two yellow copics so it was quite a challenge. Not sure how I feel about the card but I really enjoyed making it.
I'm definitely going now. I'm going to do some h*******k, or I might just spray some polish so my man THINKS I've done some ! Hehe. NCIS tonight, yippee. Hugs, Jayne xx

I'm entering the circular easel card into the Joanna Sheen 'Spring is in the air' challenge but the picture on their challenge list shows a tip of watering can - long story but I'm in hysterics here!!!!!

Lili's Little Fairies - Ribbon and Lace

Apologies for the state of this post, I am soooo disorganised at the moment. I'm having to juggle too much and my brain feels soggy!! Anyhoo, on to the challenge, and what a cracker this weeks is. Ribbon AND lace; yeah! Oooh, I loved this one but was in a bit of a contrary mood so went for black and white!

I love this LOTV image; it really is my favourite stamp of all time! The papers are papermania as is the stamp sentiment (Portobello Road - Posatge set). I think the lace is WOC as are the flowers but I can't remember where I bought the black seem binding - possibly Sam Poole - sorry. I'll check out the web until I find it! The hatpins are from Creative Expressions and I definitely bought them from Sam Poole! The image is coloured with copics: C0, C1, C3, C5, C7. Still haven't got that C9. And I missed the set of distress ink markers over at Joanna Sheen and have been sulking all night!

I'm really looking forward to seeing your creations this week - lots of ribbon and lace please. This week we are sponsored by The Ribbon Girl - you know what they say, 'you gotta be in it to win it!' It's an easy peasy one this week so get crafting. Super big hugs, Jayne xx

I'm going to enter this in to the Papertake Weekly Challenge Anything Goes

My Creative Cardmaking Commission in Issue 39!

Yeah! At last I can blog the cards I made for the Creative Cardmaking commission because Issue 39 has at last hit the shops! The brief was to make 5 children's cards showing different ways to matt and layer. What a great excuse to use lots of scrummy papers!!

The image is the Girl with the Boa from LOTV - I love this image but cannot get the hair right no matter how hard I try! I've coloured her with copics and added glossy accents to the bow and glitter to the boa.
The papers are from the Polkadoodles Pretty Sweet CD ROM. Really, this is worth buying for the papers; I use them all the time. I've added some Ranger crackle paint in picket fence around the edge (it was a phase I went through, lol).

The hearts are cut with the spellbinders scalloped hearts. The flowers are from WOC and the butterfly is the Magnolia Doohickey.

Writing instructions to make a card is harder than you think!! Hope you like it; I loved writing the article and hope to do some more - keeps me out of mischief (mostly). lol.

Blue Bloods tonight. Super Yeah! Have you heard the StooShe single (featuring Travie McCoy)? It's a cracker and just so funny; go seek it out on you tube - it'll make you giggle. Hugs, Jayne xx

Another peachy card!

So, this is one of the four cards I made for the peaches and cream challenge (let's not talk about it!). I think I scared myself with the whole peach and bright pink thing, lol.
My info on this is slightly hazy as I was in one of those panicky frenzies that mashes the mind when I made it!!! The beautiful image is obviously LOTV. The nesties are my new set , labels twenty three - how gorgeous are they? The papers are DCWV, Nana's Nursery, Baby Girl.  I wouldn't normally go for these papers but they were on sale - down to £4-99, a real bargain; how could I resist? The heart die is from the Cheery Lynn, heart doily dies set and the butterfly is a Magnolia Doohickey. The ribbon and flowers are from WOC.

This is sooooo not my thing, but it's kinda growing on me. I'm very cheery today as I've managed to make two cards and I don't hate either of them! Now that's progress.

The cheeriness won't last - I'm off to watch the last ever Law and Order: Criminal Intent. No more Bobby Goren. Sniff. How can that be?

Have a super week and thank you for stopping by (it makes me feel better when I know I'm not talking to myself). Hugs all round, Jayne xx

How kind is this?

Crafters and Blogland amaze me sometimes. Just as I go through a ropey patch a lovely crafter appears and does something amazingly kind. The lovely Lorraine over at Mrs B's blog has given me, and 4 other crafters the Liebster award. It's given to bloggers who have less than 200 followers; someone who has inspired you.

It's just the kindest thing! Thank you so much Lorraine. I have to pass it on to 5 other bloggers with a following of less than 200. I'm going to be on that as soon as possible! Big hugs to all in need, Jayne xx

That wailing you heard would've been me!!

Did you, by any chance, hear a hideous screeching noise today? Well, I've been pretty blooming miserable for the last couple of weeks so I decided to cheer myself up by listening to some music whilst I crafted. What more could a girl want than to listen to Florence and Machine, eat hummus and make a purple card  - all at the same time. I thrashed about the house, singing (wailing) into my microphone (breadstick) busting some pretty miraculous moves for a woman of my age (not sure the window cleaner enjoyed the sight). Absolutely the best day I've had for ages. To top it off my daughter got star of the week at school. Way to go!

Enough rambling! This is what I created in and amongst all the wailing and munching.
This is another Krista Smith lovely; Pink Punkette. How fab is she? I love, love, love purple. I don't know why I haven't used it in ages? The papers are Papermania and Chocolate Baroque 'Love Letters' a much neglected download I got ages ago.The leaves are the foliage die form Spellbinders. And look, I made one of those ribbon flowers that I've been wanting to try for ages. It needs work but it was fun - I'm sure crafting Goddess Sue Wilson has a tut on her blog. The purple jute (?) and flowers are from WOC. I've used the Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die again because I like it!!

I've spent the last two weeks on the verge of giving up crafting altogether but making this card and singing into my breadstick has made me much cheerier. I'm going to enter this into the Kaboodledoodles challenge because it was their idea to make a purple card, and at the fabby Party Time Tuesday's where it's 'Anything Goes'.

I'm off to sing again - breadsticks at the ready ladies - altogether now ....... ' You hooooo got the love, you got the love . ........'

And it's NCIS tonight - woohoo! Big hugs, have a soopa doopa weekend, Jayne xx

Peaches and Cream over at Lili's Little Fairies!

I'll start with a confession - the card I've posted is the fourth card I made for this challenge. Yep, I am a total whack job!!!! I'm having one of those phases; you know, where nothing you make looks even vaguely presentable. Big sigh! I'm sure you'll all do a much better job - it's a lovely challenge this week. Not only that, but we are sponsored by Which Craft UK so have some great pop up cards (card example below) up for grabs (check out Elise's gorgeous creation using one of their cards).

I was, in the end, saved by the lovely Carol over at Dreamees who sent me a box of goodies which improved my mood greatly! I was so giddy when I saw the die cut fence that I started work right away! The corner, flourish and fence are all from Dreamees. The beautiful flowers are from WOC. The papers are freebies from yonks ago - possibly made by Craftwork Cards. (Sorry, I had real trouble finding peach papers in my stash but have now ordered some Pion Designs peachy papers!).
I used copics to colour this little cutie: YR01, YR00, YR000, G20, YG63, YG61, E29, E25, E23, E50, Promarkers, blush, vanilla, dusky pink and vanilla.

Very much hope that you get chance to play along this week. Check out all the beautiful creations from my teamies this week - ridiculously stunning, huh?

Big hugs, have a great week, Jayne xx
