Dreamee Christmas!

I'm quite liking purple for Christmas cards this year. But then, I'm quite liking purple for any type of card at any time of year! The beautiful bauble stamp and the sentiment are on the same stamp sheet from Dreamees. (A super dooper bargain at £3-00!!!) The backing papers are from the 'Forever Florals' CD also from Dreamees. This CD is just crammed with beautiful backing papers and floral toppers and I do so love this purple combo - I think I can get away with it for a Christmas card!

The snowflake die and the gorgeous bauble die are from Spellbinders and I've used some of that pearl trim from ebay because I am now addicted to it and I've used it on 4 cards this week! I'm gonna need some more! The lace and ribbon are from WOC.

This next card is a super quick one, again using Dreamees CDs. This time I've used pre coloured images from the 'Mostly Mens' CD and 'A Boys Life' CD. Sometimes, when I've completely forgotten a birthday (!) I need to chuck something together quick sticks and these toppers are great for a craft emergency!!

The backing papers are from 'A Boys Life' and I've distressed them with antique linen and walnut stain distress ink. The jute mesh I think was from the Craftz Boutique (which has the most gorgeous selection of papers!) and the little tags are Maya Road. The film reel is stamped using the Tim Holtz 'Lost and Found' stamp set and I've distressed it with some alcohol inks. The buttons are from my stash.

It's been a really stressful day so I'm off to half watch some rubbish on the TV, half read some chick lit and feel guilty about not doing any colouring! Hope you have a great week, hugs Jayne xx

The joy of 'Babel'!!

Wooohooo! My copy of the utterly fabulous Babel came in the post a few days ago and I've been jigging about like a mad woman ever since. The sound of Winston thrashing his banjo makes me come over all unnecessary! I'm telling you this as the jigging about is responsible for the totally wonky nature of this card :)

The image and sentiment are both LOTV. I can't wait for the Harrogate show; I have my eye on the new releases! The backing papers were in my stash and I just can't think where they're from. The gorgeous ribbon is from Sam Poole and the pearl trim (super yum) is from ebay.

I'm off back to my crazy jigging. The music critic from the Observer might want to get their ears cleaned out; 'Babel' is every bit as good as 'Sigh no More'. So there!!!!!!!

Yippee yie yay! Have a super dooper weekend, hugs, Jayne xx

White with a Hint over at Lili's Little Fairies!

There are days when you really shouldn't attempt to craft. This week, Monday was that day. I spent an hour and a half faffing about with this card only to open it and found I'd made it upside down!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had it been a plain square card this would not have been such a huge palaver but with all the punched edges it turned into an epic performance!

The embossed card is from Kanban. Using this card has persuaded me to put the new 6"x6" embossing folders at Crafter's Companion on my ever growing wish list! The doily is made using the Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily Die. The little flourish is a Die-Namics die and the snowflakes are Spellbinders. The sentiment is from the new LOTV grunge sentiment stamp set. The image is also LOTV and is 'James Bear in the Snow'.

I've realised that the Harrogate show is much sooner than I thought - I think I've left it too late to save up!!

Hope you get time to join us this week -it's a tricky one but a challenge is supposed to be good for you!!!

Huge hugs, have a fabulous rest of the week! Hugs, Jayne xx

Gotta love those Meece!

Doesn't this image make you go 'ahhhh'? I love it. It's from the Spring Crocus stamp plate from the wobbly shelves at Sheenie Towers! I've had it ages but only just got around to using it.

The papers, I think, are from the Nitwit Promises collection (hmm, might be possibilities though - will check!) I've used the spring border again because I thought it looked lovely! Flowers and ribbon are from WOC and the sentiment is LOTV. The doily poking out at the back is from lovely Edna over at anotherdayanothercard. Thank you lovely lady!

So that's me for today. Hope you're having a great week - lovely weather we're having!!! Hugs, Jayne xx

Down to the last 12 at the Joanna Sheen DT call!

See, miracles do happen! Yippee yie yay, I am down to the final 12 at the Joanna Sheen DT call. My understanding of this next part of the process is that we all got the same 3 sheets of backing paper and decoupage image from the Jane Shasky 'Heart of the Garden' CD with which to make a card. Only 3 sheets of backing paper!!!! I went pale and had a lie down!!

Anyhoo, this is what I came up with:

I made  a page book style card. The jute mesh, ribbon and flowers are from WOC, the beautiful leaves are a Marianne designs die and the dragonflies are Magnolia DooHickeys. I found the watering can charm in a pile of stash - a happy find but I really must organise my stuff!!

I used a piece of the decoupage  as a topper and added a butterfly (a Magnolia DooHickey). I used the X Cut Doily Heart border punch on some Kraft card to decorated the inner edges of the page book - I'm so glad I replaced the punch that went 'snap'!! The card is for a friend who loves to garden so I bought some seeds as a present and popped them in the book with some super cute pegs!!!

The 12 final entries are on the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog and bloggers get to leave their comments on their favourite entry. It would be lovely if you could visit the blog and have a look at the entries and give a thumbs up for your favourite!

I really appreciate you stopping by and having a look at my entry. A super big thank you to all the lovely ladies who left kind messages about my first CAS card (I was almost too embarrassed to post it!). I think it was the hardest card I've ever made - I'm not a natural! LOL!!!!

Good luck to all the ladies who made the final 12. I'm thrilled to have made it this far. Hope you have a great week, hugs, Jayne xx

I definitely am Without Words!

Oh dear. This is my first attempt at CAS. The way I'm feeling now, it might be my last! It's probably good in this type of situation to try to find something positive to take away from the experience. So with that in mind, I am happy to report that if I try another CAS, it can only be an improvement!!!!

So, for the first 'Without Words' Challenge I am entering this:

The image is a digi stamp on the fabulous Polkadoodles 'SugarPlum Daisy' CD. I coloured it with copics whilst watching the Grand Prix. Poor Lewis.

I'm off for a lie down in a darkened room. Hugs, Jayne xx

Without Words - Autumn Challenge

Santa Claus is coming to town . . .

Over at the ABC Christmas Challenge blog it's 'S' is for Santa and this is the only stamp I have that vaguely resembles Santa so I really hope it counts!

This super cute Popcorn the Bear stamp was a freebie with a magazine that I recently bought - that was a great buy! It's lots of layers over at Divas By Design and, let's face it, I don't need much encouragement to go bananas with papers, cheesecloth, lace and ribbon! I can't tell you the joy I had in making this card. For once I got to use all my favourite things on one card and only stopped when there was no room to add anything else (I'm pretty sure I can hear Squirrel weeping in corner!). It does you good to go crazy once in a while.

So, the papers are the scrummy Papermania 'Home For Christmas' dps. I used lots of Kraft card and scuffed all the edges (I really ought to vac up after doing this as there is a corner of the dining room piled high with paper shavings!) The lace and cheesecloth are from WOC. The scrunchy ribbon is from Sam Poole. The grungy sentiment is LOTV and the banner is the Whimsy Stamp pennant banner die.

I'm thinking this is verging on crackers but I loved making it! That's me for today. I hope that you're having a super weekend. We have another 5 year olds playgym party tomorrow - how can my child have a better social life than me?  Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate it. Hugs, Jayne xx

New Home

I could not resist this 'Mushroom House' stamp from Woodware (at the GlitterPot). I was going to use it for the Without Words challenge but then I went mad with embellishments and papers and it didn't turn out so CAS after all! Oooops. I really am going to make a CAS card for the challenge. It just won't be very good.

Anyhoo, back to this card!

The colours are a bit odd but that's because I was trying to match them to the papers from the Mariposa DCWV stack. It's a beautiful pack of papers but super tricky to use!!!! The fence is a Magnolia DooHickey, the sentiment is from LOTV and I haven't a clue where the butterfly is from.

Flower Power with Lili's Little Fairies!

I'm on safer ground today - 'Flower Power', now that's not too tough is it? This is my offering this week:

The scrummy papers are from the Papermania 'monochrome' CD. The image and sentiment are LOTV, of course! The tag, dragonfly and paper flowers are Magnolia DooHickeys. The lace and ribbon are from WOC.

I hope you can join us this week, it's a super easy challenge so no excuses! Man, how many totally gorgeous entries did we have last week? Puts me to shame! Thank you for visiting, have a great week, hugs, Jayne xx

My new favourite!

You know how I love cute stamps, but, if I'm honest, I love weirdy halloween type stamps much more! I love the Stampotique range but never feel like I do them justice so hardly ever use them. I couldn't, however, resist this set of Lindsay Mason stamps at my local craft shop on Sunday. Just how fabulous is this crazy girl?

I've coloured her with copics and promarkers and distressed a little with black soot distress ink. The papers are from the Authentique 'Apothecary' range. The beautiful flowery border is the Spring Border from Memory Box and I think in an odd way it kinda works! I got to use the tulle again so I'm a fairly happy bunny.

I had such a great time making this whilst wailing away to Florence and the Machine. I'm hoping the neighbours didn't see my inner diva flailing about whilst singing like mad woman. They certainly will have heard me. Well, I had a super time anyway!

Huge apologies for not visiting blogs lately. Life is a bit chaotic at the moment. I'm grateful you come to say hello even though I've been rubbish at returning the favour. Sorry. Hugs, Jayne xx

Humphrey's Christmas!

This fabulous stamp was a freebie in a magazine :) I may have to purchase some more Humphrey's corner stamps as they're just so cute and my little one loves them!!

These papers are so scrumalicious I think they are my new favourites! They're from the Papermania 'Home For Christmas' range and I can see me using them heaps! Ooooh, and look who ordered the new Christmas grunge sentiments from LOTV. Cool, huh? The snowflakes are spellbinders and the swirl is made using a die-namics die. I gave everything a healthy daubing of antique linen distress ink and Bob's your Uncle!

I'm entering this into the ABC Christmas challenge blog 'recycling' challenge. The button is one my daughter found on my bedroom floor and I'm not quite sure what it came off. No doubt it is a vital part of what will become my favourite item of clothing!! I'll have to give the card to someone I really like, that way if I ever find what the button goes on, I can ask for it back!!!!! I have also reused the flower - it was on a card I made for a friend and once her birthday was over she gave it me back so I could reuse the bits!!! (Good friends know how I love my embellies!!!!!)

Super quick card (only because I coloured the image ages ago and that took me forever!)

We've had a fabulous day. We went to a maze made from maize! After getting lost forever we found our way out and finished off the day with ice-cream. Super yum! Hugs, Jayne xx

Embellishment Bingo with the Fairies!

Hands up which complete dope made a card for the wrong challenge and had to make a super quick card when she realised her mistake yesterday? Blimey, what planet am I on at the moment?

First up, I want to say a big cheery welcome to the six new fairies!I got a very excited text from my favourite Woodland creature last night, so a super big Woohoo for Squirrel!! I'm just giddy today!

So, this was my hurriedly made card! I used the 'brads, ribbon, flowers' line. You'd think, with my obsessive use of embellishments, that I would love embellishment bingo wouldn't you. I did, until I realised that it restricts the embellishments you can use! Boy, did I have a face on then!!!!!

I coloured the image ages ago when I was obviously having a crazy moment. It took me ages to find papers that would vaguely co-ordinate!! In the end I went for these dps from the Prima 'Moulin Rouge' pad. The flowers are from WOC and the leaves are a Marianne Designs die. I sold this beautiful stamp ages ago and now I'm thinking I'm going to have to buy it again!!!

So, that's my ramblings for today. Hope you can join us for 'Embellishment Bingo' this week! Super big hugs, Jayne xx

It just came off in my hand. Honest!!!!!

I killed my favourite punch at the weekend :(  It was the beautiful X Cut doily flower border punch; I heard a crack and the handle came off in my hand. I was right in the middle of a project and had punched 3 sides of a square (Grrrrr) when it happened. Bother. I had to buy a new one because it is my very favourite punch. The reason I'm telling you this is because I used the punch on this card!!

The stamp is 'Jill is Two' by Stamping Bella and she just fell off Joanna Sheen's wobbly shelves into my basket. Can't think who she reminds me of!!! The papers are from the Polkadoodles 'Pretty Sweet' CD. The flowers, ribbon and twine are from WOC.

Gosh, what a week. My daughter has been back at school less than a week and I've already been in to see the teacher twice. I'm pretty sure I'm not her favourite person ;)  I'm bracing myself for a tricky academic year!

Big hugs, Jayne xx

Ouch!

My sciatica has come back and I'm in rotten pain. It doesn't matter what I do I just can't get comfortable :(  It's taking me even longer then normal to make a card now! The good news is more tulle has arrived from the Craft Boutique so at least that cheered me up (and another paper pad fell into my basket, by accident of course!)

Here is another scrummy digi from lovely Krista at Saturated Canary. This is 'Ava' and she's just the cutest thing!

I coloured with Copics and distressed the edges with spun sugar distress ink. The papers are the last bits of my Meadow Lark pad from Prima - boy do I love that pack!! The tulle is from the Ribbon Girl and the flowers from WOC. The lovely flowery border id the Memory Box Spring Border die.

I'm off to do battle with another Saturated Canary - I really need to go to one of Dawny's colouring classes!

Have a super weekend - I hope that the sun is shining with you. Hugs, Jayne xx

'Black Magic' over at Lili's Little Fairies!

Gosh, this was another challenge that made my poor brain ache! In the end this was hurriedly assembled whilst my little one watched Max and Ruby - apologies, I was a little distracted!

I will be back with more details after the school run. In the meantime, never mind the card, how scrumalicious is that ribbon!!

The papers are from Papermania - the lilac paper is from the luscious Lucy Cromwell pack. The image is from the new Christmas release over at LOTV and the sentiment was a freebie possibly from Craft Stamper magazine. The fab ribbon is from the Ribbon Girl and is WAY easier to tie than the silk ribbon so I'm a happy bunny.

We are still knee deep in Birthday presents - Indigo has too many toys but she just won't give any up!!! I can't move for plastic tat, lego and cars and my half made cards are everywhere. Nobody can visit - it's just tooooooo messy!!!!

Hugs, from the hopeless housewife x

Polkadoodle-tastic!!

How cute is this house image? Well, I think it's super cute. It came with a Polkadoodle pen and paper circle magazine I bought a few months ago and this is it's first taste of ink!! A colleague of my husband's asked me to make a 'New Home' card and I was a bit stumped until I remembered this little stamp :)

With my little girl not yet back at school, this was made in a bit of a hurry so I'm hazy on the detail! The beautiful papers are from a freebie pack (Prima) from Simply Cards and Papercraft. The sentiment is from LOTV and the dies are Magnolia DooHickeys.

I'm now way behind with everything, but, hopefully, when school starts again on Wednesday I'll be back on track in no time.

A huge thank you for all your comments on the crazy tut! A gold star to Sheenie forum member Jane who has made at least 3 stars already.  Well done that lady!!

New Challenge Blog!!!

Morning ladies! No card as yet (I'm having one of those hormonally charged tidying up sessions where if it isn't nailed down it's destined for the bin!!!!!!!) My husband and daughter have fled to safety.

Just a quick heads up on a fabulous new challenge blog which opened today. WITHOUT WORDS challenge Blog is Squirrel's baby and is utterly fabulous. Please go check out the DT's awesome artwork - it practically made me weep!

Thank you to everyone who left a kind comment about my mad Finnish Star tutorial - you made my day.

Happy crafting!

Hugs, Jayne xx
